`నాకు అత్యంత ఆత్మీయుడు, ఆప్తమిత్రుడు ఎస్పీ బాల‌సుబ్ర‌హ్మణ్యంగారు. మేమిద్ద‌రం క‌లిసి శ్రీ‌కాళ‌హ‌స్తిలో కొన్నాళ్లు చ‌దువుకున్నాం. అప్ప‌ట్నుంచే మేం మంచి ఫ్రెండ్స్‌మి. చాలా క‌లివిడిగా ఉండేవాళ్లం. కాల‌క్ర‌మంలో ఇద్ద‌రం సినీ రంగంలో అడుగుపెట్టాం. ఆయన గాయ‌కుడైతే, నేను న‌టుడ్న‌య్యాను. శ్రీ‌కాళ‌హ‌స్తిలో మొద‌లైన మా స్నేహం, ఆత్మీయ‌త చెన్నైలోనూ కొన‌సాగింది. శ్రీవిద్యా నికేత‌న్‌లో ఏ కార్యక్రమం జ‌రిగినా బాలు రావాల్సిందే. గ‌త మార్చి 19 నా పుట్టిన‌రోజున శ్రీవిద్యా నికేత‌న్‌ వార్షికోత్స‌వానికి కూడా ఆయన హాజ‌రు కావాల్సింది. క‌రోనా మ‌హ‌మ్మారి కార‌ణంగా ఆ కార్యక్రమం కేన్సిల్ కావడంతో రాలేక‌పోయారు.
ఈమ‌ధ్య కూడా ఫోన్‌లో ఇద్ద‌రం కొద్దిసేపు ముచ్చ‌టించుకున్నాం. ఆయన ప్ర‌పంచ ప్ర‌ఖ్యాత గాయకుడు. అన్ని దేవుళ్ల పాటలు పాడి ఆ దేవుళ్లనందరినీ మెప్పించిన గాన గంధర్వుడు. ఏ దేవుడి పాట పాడితే ఆ దేవుడు మన ముందు ప్ర‌త్య‌క్ష‌మైన‌ట్లే ఉంటుంది. అలాంటి దిగ్గ‌జ గాయ‌కుడిని కోల్పోవ‌డం యావత్ ఫిల్మ్ ఇండ‌స్ట్రీకే కాదు, యావ‌ద్దేశానికీ ఎంతో బాధాకరం. నాకు వ్యక్తిగతంగా ఎంతో లోటు. నా సినిమాల్లో ఎన్నో అద్భుతమైన పాటలు పాడారు. నా చెవుల్లో ఆయన పాట ఎప్పుడూ వినిపిస్తూనే ఉంటుంది. నా హృద‌యంలో ఆయన ఎప్పుడూ ఉంటారు. ఈ సంద‌ర్భంగా ఓ విష‌యం చెప్పాల‌నిపిస్తోంది. నేను అసిస్టెంట్ డైరెక్ట‌ర్‌గా ప‌నిచేసే కాలంలో ఆర్థికంగా క‌ష్టాల్లో ఉన్నాను.
అప్పుడు బాలసుబ్రహ్మణ్యం ద‌గ్గ‌ర‌కు వెళ్లి వంద రూపాయ‌లు అడిగి తీసుకున్నాను. మేం క‌లుసుకున్న‌ప్పుడ‌ల్లా ఇప్ప‌టికీ ఆ వంద రూపాయ‌ల విష‌యం ప్ర‌స్తావించి, 'వ‌డ్డీతో క‌లిపి ఇప్పుడ‌ది ఎంత‌వుతుందో తెలుసా! వ‌డ్డీతో స‌హా నా డ‌బ్బులు నాకు ఇచ్చేయ్.' అని స‌ర‌దాగా ఆట‌ప‌ట్టించేవారు. మా మ‌ధ్య అంతటి స్నేహం, స‌న్నిహిత‌త్వం ఉంది. అలాంటి మంచి స్నేహితుడ్ని కోల్పోయాను. మ‌నిష‌నేవాడికి ఎప్పుడు, ఎక్క‌డ, ఎలా అవుతుంద‌నే తెలీదు. బాలు మ‌ర‌ణం న‌న్నెంతో బాధించింది. ఆయన ఆత్మకు శాంతి చేకూరాలని ఆశిస్తూ, ఆయన కుటుంబానికి నా ప్రగాఢ సానుభూతి తెలియ‌జేస్తున్నాను` అని మోహన్‌బాబు సంతాపం తెలిపారు.
`పదహారు భాషల్లో 40 వేలకు పైగా పాటు పాడిన భారతదేశం గర్వించే గాన గంధర్వుడు ఎస్పీ బాలు నిష్క్రమణ యావత్ సినీ,సంగీత ప్రపంచానికే తీరిని లోటు. వ్యక్తిగతంగా నాకు బాలు గారితో ఎంతో అనుబంధం ఉంది. ఆయన పాడిన నాన్నగారి పాటలుగాని, నా పాటలు గాని వినని రోజంటూ ఉండదు.
ముఖ్యంగా `భైరవ ద్వీపం`లో ఆయన ఆలపించిన `శ్రీ తుంబుర నారద నాదామృతం`.. పాటని ఎప్పుడూ పాడుకుంటూనే ఉంటాను. అలాంటి గొప్ప గాయకుడు,గొప్ప వ్యక్తి మనతో లేకపోవడం చాలా విచారకరం. బాలుగారి పవిత్ర ఆత్మకి శాంతి చేకూరాలని కోరుకుంటూ ఆయన కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు ప్రగాఢ సంతాపం తెలుపుతున్నా` అని బాలకృష్ణ తెలిపారు.
