18 నెలలుగా (Allegations of espionage) ఖతార్ జైలులో మగ్గిన ఇండియన్ నేవీ మాజీ అధికారులు సురక్షితంగా భారత్ కు తిరిగి వచ్చారు (Ex-Indian Navy officers return to India after being released from Qatar jail). ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోడీ దౌత్యపరమైన చొరవ (Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic initiative) వల్లే ఇది సాధ్యమైంది. దీంతో సోషల్ మీడియాలో ప్రధానిపై ప్రశంసలు (Pm Modi praised on social media) వెల్లువెత్తుతున్నాయి.
గూఢచర్యం ఆరోపణలపై నెలల తరబడి జైలు శిక్ష అనుభవించి ఖతార్ కోర్టు ఇటీవల విడుదలైన ఎనిమిది మంది భారత నౌకాదళ సిబ్బందిలో ఏడుగురు సోమవారం ఉదయం న్యూఢిల్లీకి చేరుకున్నారు. అక్కడ మీడియాతో మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోడీకి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపారు. తాము స్వదేశానికి తిరిగి రావడానికి ప్రధాని మోడీ నేతృత్వంలో నిరంతర దౌత్య ప్రయత్నాలే కారణమని అన్నారు.

ఢిల్లీ విమానాశ్రయానికి చేరుకున్న ఏడుగురు భారత నౌకాదళ మాజీ అధికారులు మీడియాతో మాట్లాడారు. భారత్ మాతాకీ జై అంటూ నినాదాలు చేశారు. ఖతార్ ఎమిర్ షేక్ తమీమ్ బిన్ హమద్ అల్ థానీతో నేరుగా మాట్లాడినందుకు మోడీకి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపారు. తమను విడిపించడానికి ప్రధాని దౌత్యపరమైన చొరవే కీలకంగా ఉందని కొనియాడారు.
